lyrics
i was in the ground
living with my shadow
keep you around
over time things change
bad heart
lets cut it open
you're not in your eyes
it's in your blood
sometimes you're not there
you're not the same not anymore
you're not the same you that you were
you keep it all inside yourself
you dress like everybody else
you're not the same light anymore
you're not the same light that you were
you keep a wall inside yourself
you're just like everybody else
go away
you're not there
you're way too far
out there
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Entirely analog, lush melodic pop with a tender heart from L.A. artist Human Barbie sounds bigger than the bedroom project it is. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 22, 2020
The new album from VOWWS is driving and merciless, pairing industrial rhythms with doomy, down-stroke guitar chords. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 3, 2018
Melodic alt-pop in the vein of Soccer Mommy is driven by winding guitar lines and augmented with dreamy shoegaze elements. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 14, 2021
Castlebeat’s “VHS” offsets bright, jangly songs with smoky, lo-fi production, giving their pie-eyed melodies a sense of mystery. Bandcamp New & Notable May 7, 2018
